Leonardo: 500 Years into the Future

San José, California
The Tech Museum of Innovation
September 27, 2008 - extended until January 25, 2009

Renaissance Engineers from Brunelleschi to Leonardo da Vinci and The Mind of Leonardo are displayed together in San José for the first time ever. These exhibitions, that have enjoyed terrific success on the international scene, represent two independent but perfectly complementary endeavours. Because of their coherence in concept, design and communication strategies, the twin exhibitions offer visitors the unique occasion to admire Leonardo in context and to penetrate the secrets of a mind that conceived and achieved results so extraordinary that they fully justify the universal admiration of the genius of Vinci.
Leonardo: 500 Years into the Future is also displaying the gigantic model of the Sforza Monument as well as two original paintings from Leonardo’s circle kept in the Uffizi Gallery: the so-called Leda Spiridon and The Virgin and Child with St. Anne by Gian Giacomo Caprotti.

The exhibition, conceived by the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, is promoted by the Tech Museum of Innovation, the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Polo Museale Fiorentino, the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and Opera Laboratori Fiorentini Spa.
