Amedeo AvogadroAvogadro and the Scientific Culture of the Early 19th Century

The five-hundred-year anniversary of the death of Amedeo Avogadro will be celebrated by the Accademia delle Scienze of Turin, in collaboration with the Università del Piemonte Orientale, with a conference dedicated to his scientific activity and the scientific culture of the first half of the 19th century. The conference will take place on June 20 in Turin and the Accademia delle Scienze and June 21 in Vercelli, in the Rector's Office of the Università.

On the occasion of the conference the Accademia delle Scienze of Turin and the Institute and Museum of the History of Science of Florence will publish the first part of the Avogadro Digital Library, a project dedicated to the online consultation of printed works and manuscripts of the famous Piedmontese scientist.

The Avogadro Digital Library is edited by E. Borgi, S. Casati and M. Ciardi.
